Live Radio DFW Presents
August 1, 1981. MTV launched with one song: Video Killed the Radio Star.
What followed was the greatest decade in music history.
We're playing all of it. Live.
Aug 1, 1981. The first video MTV ever played was Video Killed the Radio Star. We open every show with that song. We tell the audience exactly what it is. By the second song, the room knows they're somewhere special.
The Concept
This is a show built around the music that defined MTV: the videos you memorized, the songs you air-guitared in your bedroom, the moments that made you run to the TV and turn it up.
Every song is tied to a cultural moment: a movie, an iconic video, a decade-defining chart run. We don't just play the songs, we tell the story.
The show opens where MTV opened. It closes where the decade ended. In between: 25+ songs. No remote required.

The Band
A 5-piece cover band with five vocalists, together since 2021, based in DFW. We've played Harvest Hall, Frisco Rail Yard, Sweetwater Grill, and venues across North Texas.
We bring our own full PA, sound engineer, and lighting. No production burden on the venue.

We handle promotion to our email list, social media, and fanbase. You get a themed night your crowd will talk about, and come back for.
A note for venue managers: "Video Killed the Radio Star" was the first video MTV ever played, August 1, 1981. We open every I Want My MTV show with that song and tell the audience exactly what it is. By the time the second song starts, the room knows they're somewhere special. That's the difference between a cover band playing old songs and a show with a story. We'd love to bring that story to your stage.
